This is Janet Bolton originally from Lancashire

where the cotton mills were

I went to the Maiwa lecture that she gave this evening

I have followed her work for decades and seen many pieces up close in galleries in the uk

here are some images from her power point lecture

I was sitting near the back …many heads in front of me

 

loved these pieces of children on the beach

 

 

and I won the raffle!!!!!

so this little piece called “three blooms” is now mine

for a $3 ticket!!!!! How grand is that?

The skeleton is revealed!

the ivy has been cut back and the skeleton that

has been lying under the foliage for years is still

at the corner of beatty and dunsmuir in all its glory

little leif girl was the first street art blog I posted a year ago

She was on abbott when that construction was going on

the shops along that stretch on abbott are still not occupied!

already much gum and stains on the new sidewalk

 

Here she is again on pender near my bank.

 

then I saw her again nearly obliterated

only a week or so later

 

here is an unhappy main on keefer near the park

 

main street hoarding where the new buildings are going up

good question?

and yet these pieces were not treasured

this little girl was painted over by the

powers that be, within a week of me seeing her

on the wall below the walk to science world.

 

and this amazing piece was seen for quite a while on pender

west of abbott but then just before the olympics 2010

it was painted over with the brown paint that the powers that be are so fond of…….

Amazing piece….ran half a block!
